Yes, the future is bleak for travel bloggers but there are still some tiny gaps you can focus on.

There are many travel bloggers today. Some include their travel anecdotes in their lifestyle blog. Others have a dedicated travel blog.

I have found from experience that if you have a dedicated travel blog, it will be easy to build up authority and establish the travel blog.

In my experience, it takes anywhere between 8 months to a year to establish yourself.

This blog is old ( in age) but I made many mistakes that have slowed down my growth.

If you are starting fresh I recommend focusing to one or maximum three topics.

If you have done your research it is best to focus on just One Topic. ( I had written on so many topics that I confused Google and even my readers.

When someone visits a blog, they will subscribe ONLY if you are confident in what you say.

They feed off your confidence.

It does not matter if you are a newbie, just be honest and share your journey. I found the posts where I have been raw and shared my struggles have performed the best for me.

There is always someone at the same point as you were in the past. They have similar struggles, doubts and concerns.

Find these pain points and write a blog post.

Believe me, these convert very well.

The travel industry has taken a major hit. Some statistics say that there was a drop to travel blogs, travel agents by 55 percent.

Most countries are in lockdown.

Travel influencers are hit real bad. Revenue losses, projects cancelled, no hope of any future travel assignments till June.

It is predicted that travel blog posts featuring remote localities where people can self isolate might be the new trend.

People want to know about places which are far away from the city and where they can still have outdoor recreation activities in isolation.

Cruise ships, International tourism have taken a toll and most people might not be interested in these kind of travel ideas.

So what should you do next?

You can do one of many things.

Do you remember I had mentioned earlier on the blog post that it would be better if your blog focused only one topic and that is travel.

Well it looks like I was wrong in this case.

Yes if your blog is totally focused it does takeoff and establish itself really well.

In today’s scenario imagine if you were a Lifestyle blogger or you were blogging about travel and cooking or gardening.

Then you should just focus on the cooking or gardening topics since travel has been shutdown.

You could rebrand your website if it’s still young.

You could start a fresh website in another niche.

Now is the best time to find alternative topics you could write about which may have a travel slant to them.

Personally I would just create another block another topic or niche.
